Julie Chen Set To ‘Resign’ From ‘The Talk’ After Shamed Husband Les Moonves’ CBS Exit

Julie Chen will resign from her co-host role on ‘The Talk’, according to reports. Here’s what we know about her upcoming exit from the show.

Julie Chen is set to resign from The Talk as co-host amid the sexual assault and harassment allegations made against her husband Les Moonves, according to Page Six. A source told the publication that while it’s unclear whether it was her decision or not to step down from the show, they “wouldn’t be surprised” if she was asked to leave. This comes just days after Julie signed off from Big Brother as “Julie Chen Moonves”, a move that showed that she was fully supporting her husband and ousted CBS CEO, Moonves. The source added that Julie is “100 percent” not leaving Les, and that her departure from The Talk will come “any minute now.”

I haven't watched The Talk in ages. I don't think they get too political on that show. But, with the MeToo movement being a very popular topic, especially in Hollywood, it would be difficult for her to sit there at that table with the allegations against her husband if any celebrity stories regarding MeToo was ever brought up. So, yeah, I can definately see her not wanting to return to the show. I hope he's worth it.

She's not going to divorce her husband and apologize to everyone to keep a wack TV show lol

That show's "talk" would be a lot more authentic if they somehow made her stay though. But it is supposed to be fluff. The problem is Julie Chen acts like she is above everything, raising her eyebrow at everything, and she can't continue to condescend.

Julie Chen - Host of "The Talk" & "Big Brother"

Les Moonves - CEO of CBS (former now)

That is all you need to know

Julie Chen was part of my high school graduating class. I didn't know her, but do remember her from some of my classes. The alterations she made to her face to look less ethnic for TV makes me not surprised she decided to play it safe and side with her husband.

She's got it made NOW. I'm not really surprised.

Doubtful she will exit BB as she is the longest running host of that show in the world and it was her gig prior to marrying Moonves. I don't see that happening, she has been using her married name now on the show too.

We don't get The View in Australia, but I find it really interesting how alot of these outspoken actresses etc who endorsed the #MeToo movement in the last year, have remained silent on this bit of news hmmm Howard Stern takes aim at Emmys: 'They talk about Me Too, but they don’t talk about Les [Moonves]' https://www.aol.com/artic...um=twitter

Monday night's Emmy Awards had Howard Stern rolling his eyes.

“It’s the Emmys. It’s about television. What’s the biggest story in television? The fact that the president of CBS had to resign," Stern said Tuesday on his namesake SiriusXM radio show. "Me Too is in the news. They talk about Me Too, but they don’t talk about Les. I mean, my goodness. That means they’re afraid of him."

Stern doubled down, adding, “To not make a joke, one mention? The guy was uninvited 24 hours before the Emmys aired, and there’s no joke about Les Moonves. The Emmys should’ve talked about it a little bit.”

Hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che did joke about the waterfall of sexual misconduct and assault allegations barraging Hollywood -- "It is an honor to be here sharing this night with the many, many talented and creative people in Hollywood who haven’t been caught yet," Che quipped -- but didn't target

then you go, ‘Well, their show is called 'The Talk' but they don’t talk about this," Stern said. "Can you believe Julie sticking with him? What the f--k. It's just really weird. It's insulting to the victims."

Stern already openly disliked Moonves well before the recent fallout. In 2006, he appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" wearing an "I Hate Les Moonves" t-shirt -- a particularly bold move since "Late Show" airs on CBS.

“I believe you are working for one of the biggest jerks on the planet,” Stern told Letterman.

The Emmys aired not on CBS, but on NBC, a network which has also faced criticism from the #MeToo movement. In fact, just about every major network has suffered #MeToo-related blows over the past year: CBS with Moonves and Charlie Rose; NBC with Matt Lauer and reportedly spiking the initial Harvey Weinstein exposé; ABC with Mario Batali -- the list goes on.

Julie Chen's not leaving her meal ticket - shit, she dated him while he was still married to his first wife. She's as much of a slimeball as he is.
