This is getting to be an epidemic. Calling out black people for doing normal things that are none of their business. Some people sure do feel entitled to screw up things worse than they already are for no reason other than being a damn racist busybody. Lassiez les bon temps rouler!

While it's appalling that this busy-body woman would be suspicious of a black man with two white children, the reason it seems so shocking to the people involved, the reporters and most people that see the video, is because most of are not this way and can't believe that in this day and age there are still people this ignorant. Yep, same shit, different day. Not shocking to me at all....I've had similar experiences when I lived in Nassau County.
I could be dressed in a three-piece suit, but walk or drive through certain neighborhoods, and some mfers will look at me like I'm going to rob them.

And I can't tell you how many times I've been followed in stores, again, even wearing a suit and tie. One time I was shopping with my mother when this happened, and she was about 75 at the time.

I did however get some ignorant people the next day telling me how my kids were picked up by a 'Surinamer' as if I didn't know that

In 1984, when I was in High School, I was in an EMT explorer group. We had a weekend trip about 200 miles from where we lived. The EMT that was over the group was a black man. The group was myself, my 2 brothers, and a Hispanic girl. (ages 13-16). We were in a car my dad rented for the trip. Well at about 10 PM in a tiny southern town... we got pulled over for speeding. What if half the things ever said

Brent Staples, who is an editor at the NY Times, is a large, burly Black man. He said that when he was younger, he got so tired of White people cowering in fear of the mere site of him, that he began whistling classical music and opera songs as a way to put them at ease.
