Sarah Palin mocks Ocasio-Cortez gaffe. Critics point to Palin's own history of errors

Progressive Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is quickly becoming the most recognizable face among Congress' incoming freshman class.

YIKES: Ocasio-Cortez Fumbles Basic Civics TWICE In 1 Statement

New York Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez again proved that her transition into the political fray has been bumpy, to say the least, as she recently fumbled basic civics twice in one...

She is as irrelevant as they come. Who gives a flying Eff what she says?

It does all seem rather forced, over a slip in which the meaning was clear.

Out of interest, is there a collective name for the two chambers of Congress and the Presidency?

AOC's Twitter response was epic:

Now that’s *TWO* fallen GOP Vice Pres candidates going after a freshman Congresswoman that’s not even sworn in yet.

Isn’t it a little early to be bringing out the big guns?

Especially when they look like the FWD:RE:FWD:WATCH THIS grandpa emails from the ‘08 election they lost

She's 29 years old! Stop making excuses for her ignorance. The 3 branches of government? She should have learned that in fifth grade! What the hell are we teaching these kids! Oh yeah, the biggest lie ever...that socialism is good. The fact that people would actually vote into Congress, someone still learning the basic civics lessons is unbelievable and frightening. I'm sure she will provide us with many laughs during her tenure (you know, after she is "inaugurated") but, she is not a child.

You seem upset. Let me alleviate your anxiety. No one that is elected to a political position for the first time is qualified. They can have every bit of education, degrees, or business expertise, but no one knows a building, the format, the procedure, the politics within the politics, or anything else. She's green as fuck, as any first timer is. Obama was green in 2009, Trump is still green in 2018, Clinton was green in 2000, I mean, no one has experience for the job the first time. It's insane to think that, or to berate a woman of color simply because they aren't doing what the old white men who have been there doing second nature for forty years. Even the president, whoever it is, has to ask questions about what they can or can't do, what is legal, and what is allowed by protocol or law. Short version: it's a learning experience.

Those who think they have everything already figured out are the first ones who need to be in a classroom or reading a book.

This experience will cover courtship, sex, commitment, fetishes, loneliness, vindication, love, and hate.

I agree with you. There is always a learning curve in any job. I am talking about basic, after school special, how a bill becomes a law, knowledge. If you want to run for Congress, is it too much to ask that you know basic civics, and not use taxpayer money to do on the job training of things you should know about prior to running? Policy- wise, she cannot answer how we can pay for free college for all, as well as single-payer healthcare. When asked, she has that deer-in-the-headlights look, but no answer. Wasn't she an economics major?? Then she should know if you tax the rich at a rate 100%, that would still not pay for what she is proposing. And, btw, in what world does the unemployment rate go down because people have 2 jobs, as she said....did she ever show up to class? Sorry if you think I'm being hard on her, I guess I just expect more from our elected officials (and in this day and age, I do realize what a naive notion that is).

Probably not, but then again, I know when I'm in over my head. Again, I'm talking basic, elementary knowledge...So, in that respect I think most of us would do better...at least, I hope so. This I do know, if she were a Republican, many of you would agree with me. Btw, neither Clinton, nor Obama were "green", they had previous experience in government. More than bartending experience, anyway.
