ROGER STONE has low friends in high places...

https://www.businessinsider.com/doj-reduce-roger-stone-sentencing-recommendation-trump-unfair-2020-2

DOJ veterans were flabbergasted when senior officials intervened to lower Roger Stone's sentence hours after Trump called it 'horrible and unfair'

  • The DOJ publicly rebuked its own career prosecutors on Tuesday when a senior official told reporters that the department will intervene to recommend a lower sentence for the longtime GOP strategist Roger Stone.

  • The move comes after President Donald Trump publicly went to bat for Stone and called the initial sentencing recommendation of seven to nine years "horrible and unfair."

  • Hours later, a senior official publicly undermined the initial sentencing recommendation, telling reporters, "The department finds the recommendation extreme and excessive and disproportionate to Stone's offenses. The department will clarify its position later today."

  • Tuesday's reversal from the DOJ left former career prosecutors flabbergasted.

  • "DOJ needs to register as a Republican Political Action Committee," Jeffrey Cramer, a longtime former prosecutor who spent 12 years at the DOJ, told Insider.

  • "Impossible to overstate how alarmed people should be right now," Susan Hennessey, the former general counsel at the National Security Agency at a managing editor at Lawfare, wrote.

As if we needed more proof that whining and boo hooing works - for some.

The usual Republican grift.

However, one could take from this that unrepentant serial adulterer Donald J. Trump isn't planning to pardon Stone. If he was, it wouldn't seem likely he'd have his DOJ trying to jack with the sentencing. For all Trump could care they could sentence Stone to 1,000 years and it wouldn't matter if Trump was planning to pardon Stone immediately after sentencing.

Breaking update: A key prosecutor has resigned, and another withdrew from the case of Roger J. Stone Jr. after senior law enforcement officials intervened in their sentencing recommendation. Read more below.

WASHINGTON — Senior Justice Department officials intervened to overrule front-line prosecutors and will recommend a more lenient sentence for Roger J. Stone Jr., convicted last year of impeding investigators in a bid to protect his longtime friend President Trump, a senior department official said Tuesday.

The highly unusual move prompted one of the government’s key prosecutors to resign and another to withdraw from the case. It came after federal prosecutors in Washington asked a judge late Monday to sentence Mr. Stone to seven to nine years in prison for trying to sabotage a congressional investigation that threatened Mr. Trump and the president criticized their recommendation on Twitter as “horrible and very unfair.”

As he did after a jury speedily convicted Mr. Stone on seven felony charges in November, Mr. Trump attacked federal law enforcement officials, saying “the real crimes were on the other side.”

My god, these people are so fucking foul. Roger Stone is such a repulsive piece of shit and this "president" is aiding and abetting this criminal. It just gets lower and lower every day.

I have no doubt that fuck face will pardon him. If not now, either after he loses the election, or after he wins the election.

And there will be a lot more that he pardon's before it's all over with.

That truly would be his style. First get the sentence reduced to nothing (time served?). Then pardon Stone's ass too. Rub their nose in it at the DOJ.

After 4 prosecutors quit, Schumer is calling for an inviestigation. It's ultimately up to the judge, but Bozo can still pardon him.

fox fucking news today -

President Trump on Wednesday denied interfering in former associate Roger Stone’s criminal case amid a political storm over his looming sentencing, while declining to say whether he’d consider a pardon for the GOP political operative...

What is dictatorship in simple terms?
A dictatorship is a form of government where one person or political party has the power to do whatever they want. The ruler is called a dictator. In a dictatorship, the individuals rights are generally speaking, suppressed. ... They will confiscate the political parties' property or offices and such things.

There is in information that may lead to the conviction being overturned and the jury foreperson being charged with crimes... this woman likely lied on her jury forms about possible bias as the idiot made herself public and it turns out she is a huge anti-trump activist. She went in with a clear anti-trump bias to the point that if she would have made it known she would have been excluded.

Yes, that should be enough reason. The Jury foreman no less. (Sorry... forePERSON)
And, IIRC, Rich was on the run, avoiding prosecution. At least Stone wasn't running or hiding.

Do you have links supporting this info?

I haven't looked into the jury foreperson story till encountering it here. Just for some contrast, here's an alternate take:

.

Only is just parroting what he has been told to say. The transcript of the questions the Juror was asked before she was accepted by the defense has her openly stating that she stood for government, serves on a school board and is politically aware and active.

.

Only constantly demonstrates he has very little understanding of the law and just believes what Fox and co tell him. Nothing that has been released shows she commited any crime:

.

A person who has stood for a seat in government and failed to be elected is allowed to be on a jury.

.

A person who is an open supporter of either mainstream party is allowed to be on a jury.

.

A person who is currently on an elected school board is allowed to be on a jury.

.

A person who makes political posts on Facebook is allowed to be on a jury.

.

A person who did not hide from the Court that they did these things as evidenced by the court transcripts has not done anything that would make her a criminal.

.

Now an investigation may disclose something, but so far it is more an overactive imagination and wishful thinking in their constant and exclusive search for excuses for trump.
