I think some people read too much into things. Prince proclaimed to be anti-drugs. Yes, he said things that may have eluded to drug use, but Prince said a lot of things and he said things to make us wonder and think about what he really meant. He wanted to keep us guessing. He even told Wendy "don't give them everything", or something along those lines.....like, just tease us and keep wondering more about him. Prince purposely didn't want to give us all the deets, because he wanted to remain a mystery. He even said "My songs will tell you everything about me." I think he expressed himself through his music and that's how he wanted it.

Did he really say that many things that eluded to drug use? This statement is pretty clear, no guessing involved.

.

Well, Prince did say things that suggested he experimented with drugs.

Of course, he is. If it's in a song, it's about him. Like that time he fucked his sister and wrote about it? Gospel truth.

I mean if he did have sex he would break every rule Jehova's have regarding premarital sex so Prince is really just friends with them all anyway.

If Prince died of an overdose of painkillers, how can you say that painkillers are okay and acceptable?? And say "stay away from drugs" at the same time while the medicinal use of marihuana (which is called a "drug") is becoming more and more accepted?

Since the alleged ecstasy trip was brought up, let me ask some questions. FWIW, I am a non-recreational-drug user of any kind, ever, so I have absolutely no experience or knowledge whatsoever as to what ecstasy does to you or how long it lasts.

Now, we are told to believe that Prince had a bad ecstasy trip and this directly led to the "Black Album". Correct?

Are we to believe that Prince took ecstasy, got in a bad place, and while the trip was still active, wrote, recorded, and mastered 8 songs?

How the heck long does an ecstasy trip last?!?

An xtc takes a couple of hours. There is no way you can do 8 songs on one xtc. Of course you can take one after the other, but there is also no wsy you can play an instrument when you are really high on xtc.
Of course i dont know what happened, but 1 xtc is really not gonna give you a total bad trip. Funny enough, xtc in the 80s were a very warm and loving drug. It made you love everyone. Xtc changed over the years.
I never bought the xtc story.

This is really bullshit. There are painkillers strong as hell. No different than any other drugs. People can get really numbed by painkillers.

Today, I am actually on hydrocodone. Yesterday I had a tumor removed from my back. Odds are that is it is benign but it was 4 cm by 10 cm and causing back discomfort. I have had it since 2009 so the doctor (even though he still sending it to the lab) is about 99 percent certain it is benign (otherwise it would be about 3 times the size it was). Anyhow, long story short they gave me hydrocodone. I took one pill at 7 am and one pill at 3 pm. I barely noticed a difference whatsoever. It dulled the pain a bit in my back (but the pain at the scar area wasn't that bad in the first place.) the recommended dosage is 1 to 2 pills every 6 hours.

I bring this up because prince supposedly thought he was taking hydrocodone that fateful night. Imagine the pain he was going through. Imagine how weak hydrocodone would be to help that. Imagine he took 3 or 4 of what he thought was hydrocodone. Could four fentanyl-laced pills been enough to account for the 67 mcg of fentanyl in his system.

Really? eek eek

If you have pain because of sickness, then go to a doctor is my advise, let him/her help you.

This would be ok, but doing drugs yourself, smoking is stupid and not safe, doing hard drugs is even more risquΓ©.. unhealthy, not wise imho...

Those of you, who are critizesing me, is that because you wanna do some kind of drugs..... question

Strange, I wanne live my life without drugs, drugs lead to no good.. why is that a bad thing, according some here..? confuse

So many reasons in life to stay far away from shit like drugs...

Yes. There's trying to manage physical pain and then there's trying to dull emotional pain.

Yes, and there have been many people who start on prescribed pain medicine for physically pain but also become emotionally dependent on them as well. Not saying whether or not that this is true about Prince, but emotional numbing is often the strong pull of opiates for many even when it didn't start out that way.

I read your story before you deleted it, just didn't get around to writing a reply just yet. First of all: I understand. Stuff like heroine and crack and cocaine can fuck a person up. No argument there.
But... Prince didn't die from heroine or cocaine. He died from something you can get in the hospital. Although, of course, he didn't get a fentanyl overdose from the hospital. There is an illegal trade in drugs/medicine (where does one stop and the other begin?) and criminals will deal in fentanyl just as easily as they deal in heroine if it means they can make a quick buck. That's what happened to Prince: he was in pain, he wanted to numb the pain (as anyone would) and he took whatever he could to numb the pain. He is not the only one. So... I wish we could make a clear distinction between "medicine" (which is good) and "drug" (which is bad),but we can't. Especially in traditional shamanistic cultures, there really isn't a difference between the two and a mind altering experience can be very healing, I can tell you that. So while I understand what you're saying about drugs, don't think to soon that drugs are all bad and whatevwr comes out of the hospital is good.

I am never going to believe that Prince used drugs. He was a man who rarely took a sudafed or aspirin. And now they want me to believe that he died from a drug overdose.
He died because he was tricked he took a vitamin or maybe aspirin for hip pain and his health and they we're illegally laced with fentanyl.Somebody knew this a tricked him.

I believe he might have tried it and even dabbled with some cocaine here and there, but he was NOT an addict. There is no way Prince could be an addict and put out some of the greatest live shows. We saw it in Rick James, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston. We saw it in George Michael but it never affected his voice. He was still one of the greatest male vocalist of all time.

How is there no doubt? Dez Dickerson said the Prince he knew didn't do drugs. Have other band members/associates confirmed that he dabbled with cocaine (or other things - and I'm not referring to that one instance of ecstasy)?

We know what he died from there is no doubt about that. But some think he was murdered, others a tragic accident and still others think it was suicide. I don't think we'll ever know for sure.
