No, Kirk knew when Prince needed the truth. He cared about Prince - and that conversation must’ve been hard for Kirk to approach.

don't know the man, haven't heard anything about him other than he was kinda dumb and would do what he was told. He certainly left prince alone when he was told to.

Yes, I think he knew Kirk was trying to help him.
I think Kirk was the one he could depend on most to meet lots of Prince’s needs such as bodyguard, chauffeur, runner, and many other things.
I feel Kirk has been scapegoated by a lot of people who are having a tough time accepting Prince’s passing.

👆🏻this. People need someone to blame and Kirk is the easiest/most logical one to blame.

Just looked through some of the NYTimes 'Prince Investigation Files'. https://www.nytimes.com/i...iles1.html Only scratched at the surface but I thought page 178 on for several pages was interesting. This is part of Detective Chris Wagner's report, which extends from page 122 to 168, I think. I feel sheepish going deep on this stuff because I respect people who say let the man rest in peace. Also, I'm a 'bandwagon jumper' (from classification of Prince fans/fam) after all. Silly to even try to make observations, but one anyway... simple and obvious... interview with Theo London, entry #331: "I asked Theo about Prince's drug use and if Prince ever asked Theo to get him drugs. Theo told me that Prince asked Theo once to get him something for his pain. Theo said he bought Prince Tylenol and Prince got angry with Theo, stating that he needed something stronger." The anger. That's what struck me. How people, when addicted to something, anything, get angry around that topic whenever limitations on need are at stake. People around Prince had to cope with that and I'm sure they wanted to avoid the anger. I've been around a few people with some addictive tendencies. They're impossible, raise their voices, etc. whenever threatened with any comment referring to that addiction. You might call the people who were around P enablers. But, on the other hand, he had legitimate pain. And, it was their job; they were hired to get him things he needed. From the detective's report, some left because they didn't want to get these things... Some of the characters in these pages come off as unsavory, to say the least. If it hadn't been them, it would have been someone else. He would have found someone to get what he needed. There are some words about some people in the section I mention who seemed heartless/dismissive. I don't want to name names because certainly I don't know any of these people and know that everyone's got a bias.

But, I came on here to ask a different question! I was listening to PeaceLove in her recent YouTube video 'Prince...Get the "PILL" outta here!!!'. https://www.youtube.com/w...JILBbeuubg She cites some stats about fentanyl levels. The two concerning blood and liver levels I corroborated from simple Google searches. But the gastric level, which she states as 14,000 mg I couldn't corroborate anywhere. Has anyone else encountered that stat? Is there a source? I'd ask PeaceLove but I don't have a YouTube account and don't plan on getting one. 14,000 mg is 14 g, correct? 14 g is half an ounce, correct? I'm trying to picture what size lab boat you'd need for 14 g of fentanyl and how you'd get that much into your stomach and how to come by that much? It does seem legit to ask how many pills laced with fentanyl would equal 14 g.

Then, I just heard the interview with Susan Rogers from the Charles Rivers' Show. http://thegoodamericancol...ineer.html It's a long interview and I just listened to the last 7 minutes, as someone directed. She states, "He had a terrible problem that developed over many years with his hips, knees and ankles. That was an erosion of the connective tissue that caused bone on bone excrutiating pain. You see those videos from him in the 80s jumping off speaker stacks and stuff in his high heels... he abused his body, overworking it. When I was with him this was the case and I assume it persisted: he hated to ever cancel a show and he hated to admit he was sick. He didn't want to admit weakness. So, when he was sick on the Purple Rain tour, he'd just take Dayquil, that over the counter cough medicine, just to get him through. He wouldn't admit that he was sick. He would never slow down. So, I can see, if you've got a body that refuses to admit that it's hurting and you've got religious belief later in life that prohibits you from getting medical attention for this problem, you are going to take pain medicine. If you've got a small body, you're gonna build a tolerance and take more and more and more and more till his poor body couldn't take it any more. I've heard from people who were close to him in the last year of his life and they said that he would..." Oops... I exhausted my access to the site so I can't finish the transcription... the main thing I was trying to get to was the statement Susan cites that someone made to her, in essence, that "he was done..." Sorry for the long post and all the obvious stuff. I was trying to stop posting. It's time consuming and I don't want to waste your or my time... aaarrrrgghh... After all this, I just can't 'cancel'!

Many of your questions will be answered reading the investigative files. Try to go through the whole thing. Unfortunately, only 'scratching the surface' will leave gaps in your knowledge. Your questions about Fentanyl gastric levels etc should be answered. Also, study up on Fentanyl.

Probably take one-two hours depending on your reading speed.

Also, Susan Rogers was an excellent sound engineer but not a medical pofessional and had not been in contact with Prince for a long time, so I don't think she can speak to 'erosion of connective tissue'

I find that I tend to cross-check information and if certain things come up repeatedly, then I tend to believe them.

susan said he committed suicide without coming right out and saying it. that the people around him said he was done and that he decided to lay it down, sounds very conscious, i could only wonder who told her what.

Let's also remember that it was Kirk who wouldn't let Prince answer questions that the Dr. in Moline was trying to ask him. It was Kirk who interjected himself into every aspect of Moline.

Let's also remember that it was Kirk along with Phaedra who went into PP and deleted files off of the computers and shredded things.

Let's also remember it was Kirk who received prescriptions in his name for Prince which is ILLEGAL.

Let's also remember how the associates asked Kirk, what are they supposed to say to the detectives.

Let's also remember that Kirk's 1st phone call after finding Prince, wasn't to 911...it was to Phaedra.

Let's also remember that it was PRINCE, who let Kirk live in his house free of charge and provided vehicles to Kirk.

Let's also remember that it was PRINCE who paid for Kirk's family's medical bills.

Let's also remember that it was PRINCE who funded Kirk's money for his fitness business.

Of course Kirk took the 5th, he wants the Estate to blame everyone else except for him, it's Walgreen's fault...it's Moline's fault, it's Dr. S fault, It's the Kornfields fault...any of you notice a pattern here?

Let's explore these.

- Kirk interjected himself into every aspect of Moline or Kirk was trying to do right by Prince when he was at his weakest? Prince wanted to leave right away, blamed the narcan shot instead of the pills and didn't want any tests performed. Everything that happened in Moline was leaked out so maybe getting to a local doctor they could trust wasn't such a crazy idea. And it wasn't Kirk that told Prince to go ride his bike around or head to Electric Fetus (weird how nobody looked in their direction as the source) or throw a dance party to give the illusion that everything was ok.

- Again was Kirk protecting himself or Prince? The few texts and emails the cops did get were released. Imagine if they got their hands on months' or years' worth.

- Are you noticing a theme? Was that Kirk's idea or Prince's?

- He had been dead for hours by the time they found him. There may be truth to the idea that they dressed Prince afterwards or cleaned him up but, considering that the police also posted photos/videos of his body, I'm really glad that we didn't have to see a Chris Farley style crime scene photo of the tragedy.

- PRINCE, repaid Kirk's loyalty by giving him all these things. So why would Kirk conspire to knowingly or unknowingly murder Prince? What's the scheme between Kirk and Phaedra where it makes sense to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs? Why would Kirk do all the things I listed if he was the one supplying Prince with the pills? Why would he try to get Larry Graham to talk to Prince after the overdose if he wanted Prince dead? Why would he contact Kornfield? Why would he knowingly leave Prince alone with tainted pills that he supplied?

It doesn't make any sense.

Van Jones, between the rehearsed lines of outting all of Prince's Christian work that he didn't want made public, mentioned that they should've done more. There's a good chance that Van feels guilty for taking Prince at his word on this subject. That the ups and downs everybody talked about and saw were normal.

Kirk plays it cool in public but everybody from Prince's inner circle must feel some sort of guilt regarding his passing. That there was more that could have been done to potentially save his life. That's normal. That makes sense.

Fuck yeah to everything bolded. However... NOTHING was going to save Prince, if Prince wasn't willing to live for Prince. And he was only 50/50 in on that. He was clearly still fighting up until the end though, so God bless his soul and I am sooo proud of him because he was trying. What's not recognized as much as it should be, is how the pills effect his moods, and I don't just mean fentanyl, but the other two. I never felt comfortable as to what his clean/natural state of mind really was, because it seemed to vary way too much, in short periods of time, and it felt unnatural.

As for Kirk, it's not his fault really. I don't know what his ethics and whatever else is, but Prince is people-smart brilliant, and adept at getting what he wants. Prince was saying about a year and a half before he passed how fukked up his life was and that Kirk DIDN'T know the true situation, and then we hear about the surprise pills in Jolene. So... to me that's proof Kirk was played. Also... if you knew the situation, when Kirk got that job, it was always clear that Prince was going out the way he did barring some sort of miracle. I thought Kirk would do a better job though than just get what Prince asked, but that's Prince's fault for putting all this fake 'best friends' stuff out, that led me and likely others as well, to believe KJ knew what's up.

when did prince publicly say his life was fucked up and that kirk didn't know anything? I tend to believe that one lady who said that anyone saying they didn't know about his problem is lying. Now, i know kirk is dumb but how dumb is he? also, putting a dummie in charge of a position where they have serious responsibility is dumb in itself, gotta blame prince for that one. You don't put fuckups in positions where life is at stake, see Dr. Conrad Murray for proof.

Also... if you knew the situation, when Kirk got that job, it was always clear that Prince was going out the way he did barring some sort of miracle.

Conrad Murray for proof.

she then does not provide any follow-up. Some orgers have become almost furious with the tease. I remember from 2-3 years ago.

Take what Susan says with a grain of salt, regarding Prince's health, etc...

Yeah, I don't think Prince liked Susan too much per one of his later interviews

in Ebony?

He said she knew little about his personal life.

I feel she is self-important...her post-Prince death talks/'lectures' annoy the hell out of me.

Who would be in touch with her about Prince' health?

ya, i can't forget funkster but others claiming to be in the know generally say the same. As far as susan rogers, her opinions is about as vaiid as a lot of people who knew him. The ones who probably know the most are saying the least, probably because they are guilty or feel guilty. they hi tailed it for the most part and haven't been in public, phaedra, kirk, to a lesser degree meron.

Well, at least we now know, with certainty, that Prince had been given fair warning about what he had been taking, and what would happen if he continued to do so. Moreover, I have no issue with Kirk Johnson, whatsoever. He was a good friend that kept, and continues to keep, Prince's personal business private.

I love Prince, miss him dearly, but feel he alone is responsible for his own death.

susan said he committed suicide without coming right out and saying it. that the people around him said he was done and that he decided to lay it down, sounds very conscious, i could only wonder who told her what.

Yes. I had this feeling once morning and it felt like it could be right. That he just sort of stopped trying, even while trying. It is a conscious statemnt, and it would jibe with why a lot of people aren't talking. They don't want to "tarnish" his legacy. But it wouldn't.

I was thinking about something else yesterday. I think Andy Allo was playing games with him in some way, I did hear she "played" him, and he was older and weaker and was affected. I think he cheated on her twice and she had gotten out of there to protect herself but still wsanted him so was playin games with him from behind the internet etc. to punish him.

Prince was Prince. Period.

And when he died the poor girl was in shock. Way too young to know something like that could really happen.

I think Fly was right: that he had this "illness" (pain and dependnency) but didn't tell her.

I appeciate everyone's feedback...interesting comments. My thought is ...people say Prince's privacy and legacy need to be protected. BOTH of which have been exposed. The investigation files revealed his privacy and the cause of his death might have tarnished his legacy. Both are facts. IMO, Kirk should speak up for whatever he knows...Him pleading the 5th makes it seem he is hiding something. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. Bottom line, a crime is trying to be solved, why won't he and those in the inner circle choose not to cooperate? Again...the protecting his privacy card and not wanting to tarnish his legacy card are out the window. Why won't he share what he knows and kept inside his vault?

Because he may think it will be too disturbing. I have found that many fans need to see Prince a certain way. I even feel it is difficult to have thoughtful conversations about Prince without many fans pitching a fit.

Because it may disturb us.

When have they ever cared what disturbs us or not? wink And who are they to decide it?

Was that the one that was unavailable to us...perhaps sealed by the judge?

Yes, the transcript may have been sealed but I dont know this for certain.

Not all depositions are transcribed. Once there is a deposition you must request a transcript if you want a copy.

Court reporters charge big $ per page to transcribe depositions.

A 7 hour deposition would be quite costly.

All we know is that a copy of the deposition has not been leaked at this point in time.
